Experts: Average mobile Internet speed slows down by 3% in Feb

MOSCOW, Mar 31 (PRIME) – Russia’s average mobile Internet speed fell to 21.1 megabytes per second (MB/s) in February from 21.7 MB/s in November 2021, news and research agency TelecomDaily said on Thursday in a statement.

“TelecomDaily has registered a new decrease in the average speed of mobile data transfer on LTE networks since their launch in Russia in 2011–2012,” the agency said.

MegaFon has stayed fastest among the top four mobile operators – also comprising MTS, VimpelCom, working as Beeline, and T2 RTK Holding, working as Tele2 – with the average nationwide speed of 33.2 MB/s.

MTS’s average speed amounted to 19.2 MB/s, VimpelComs’ to 18.7 MB/s, and T2 RTK Holding’s to 14.2 MB/s.
